Year 20 No 02 October 1996
The opening session of the new season in September, in the newly refurbished Municipal Hall, got under way in sparkling form. Veteran fiddle player Ian Powrie, accompanied on keyboard by Ian Patterson were our guest artistes.
Ian delighted the audience with his beautiful playing and reminiscences of many years in the music business.
Fewer local players than usual gave those musicians the chance to show off their talents with a ‘double spot’. These players were, on accordion Charlie Thomson, Charlie Todd, Willie Little, Allan Smith and John Anderson.
On fiddle Annie Robertson.
On keyboard George Walker and Dorothy Lawson.
On drums Eck Williamson and bob Henderson.
Willie Little also gave us a couple of tunes on the tin whistle.
