'Big Jack' Gray from Kirkfieldbank was Founder Chairman of the Lesmahagow Club and held that position for its entire 26 year history. The Club closed when Jack and wife Jean, the Club Secretary, decided to retire at the end of the 2004/5 Season. None of the Committee were willing to take over the role since attendances were already falling and there seemed little likelihood of bringing back the 'good old days'.
'Big Jack' died on Monday, 21st January, 2013 aged 83 and is sadly missed by his many friends and colleagues.
